If you call your sister...

...and she says, "I really can't talk right now; I'm in the middle of a liver transplant. Is it urgent?"
Just say no and hang up, people. Just say no, and hang up.

Why would the phone be on in the first place?

It's a work phone, so I guess they expect her to have it on all the time? Plus, she's the anesthesiologist (sp?), not the surgeon, so maybe it's on in case she needs to be called out for another one of the patients she is monitoring?

(Maybe I feel like question marks are the only true punctuation?)

Okay Marg, you need to get on my blog and leave me some comments. I'm a loser and no one looks at my stupid blog!!
My sister wouldn't be in a liver transplant, so I'm not quite sure!!
Love ya

Well, that's one I hadn't heard before. Since Elizabeth IS a doctor, I would believe her. Other than that, I would think "live transplant" was code for something.... I don't know. Like I said, I haven't heard that one before AND I haven't ever called my sister. (Could it be, because I don't have one? Hmmm...) Though, I have called sisters before! HA! Speaking of relatives, I was doing family history work/research last week and found out that I might (huge "MIGHT") be related to Melissa. If so, we'd be fifth cousins (by marriage) or something like that. Then again, the last name Burns is not all that uncommon. It's not like White or Johnson, but it isn't entirely rare either. Huh, anyway, that was completely irrelevant. How's that for your daily dose of "I could care less statements made on my blog from Danielle"? BTW, you should write me about all the experiences your having with the O'Tooles, Youngs, etc.... so I can put them in my little FamHist journal.

LOVE YA!!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. I read that as if she were the one having her liver transplanted.

LOL, me too, Janell. Me too.

Yeah, I still find the image of her answering the phone (assuming she has caller ID) in the middle of the transplant a little funny-- kind of reminds me of the sitcom, Scrubs.

Just say "NO" to liver transplants. (I hear they can get a little messy, and they tend to interrupt telephone calls between sisters! How awful!)
