I don't have time for this

For any of it. For my life.

I owe good, long phone calls to three really close friends, and visits to a couple more.

I need to wash my sheets, and the kitchen towels.

I need to put in enough hours at work to earn next month's rent AND to get things ready so that when I leave this campus in May my replacement doesn't curse me for not preparing her and our office records well enough.

I need to Drain-o my shower and wash the bathmats. I need to do my dishes.

I need to call my mom back about my birthday dinner. I need to plan my party, make a flyer, send it out. I need to plan the menu and make sure I have enough help to make it all.

I need to find a job. And housing. In another state.

I need to be done with my thesis - written, defended, revised, published - in time to go to CA in May when my sister's 4th baby is born.

I don't have time to breathe.

Feel you.
AND I HAVE NO SELF DISCIPLINE. DO NOT EVEN ASK ME WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING ALL DAY. GO TO MY BLOG AND COUNT HOW MANY TIMES I POSTED IN THE PAST THREE DAYS.
I'm acting under the guise of "spring break." Um, Jenna? Thesises don't take breaks.
I need a sensory deprivation tank. Or a nanny to just make me get my stuff together.
This is perhaps my most emotionally charged comment ever.

I feel your pin! Life can get so out of control sometimes. But remember you are in a particularly crazy period just now. It won't always be this bad. (There will be moments of quiet, but only moments.)

I used to tell myself that when I had finished "such & so" that life would get back to normal. Then one day I realized that "for my life, this IS normal". I've been able to take it much more in stride since then.

Just remember how many times in th scriptures it says,"and it came to pass". It never ever says, "And it came to stay." Hang in there. One hou at a time.

Skip the bday. They're overrated anyway...

Actually, I wonder if anyone's done a disertation on the interrater reliability of birthdays...

I gotta get to the library!

WOW! I so relate to this... Yet, we go-getter ladies wouldn't have it any other way (let's be honest with ourselves, it's true).

Love ya!
Danielle

PS: Thanks for making time for Cancer Crusaders amid you relentless busy-ness! :)

yeah. let me tell you about Drain-o and needing to do it. I need to grocery shop - and as soon as I get that far I need to remember to get the drain-o. . . then I need to get it in the tub
EVIL VORTEX!
EVIL VORTEX! I've been sucked in!
all productivity lies in waste

I knew I shouldn't read your blog until you were done with your thesis. . . and probably me with mine
